When I was trying to sleep I got to thinking about the adults in Rugrats again for some reason and came up with some headcanons. Yes, Rugrats headcanons. Half-asleep me thinks about odd things.

-The Pickles’ family’s full names are Louis, Andrew, and Stuart. Drew’s a year older than Stu.

-Chas and Drew met the first day of high school and were inseparable ever since, eventually going to the same college (Chas for accounting, Drew for business administration) and working in the same company. Drew is, if not Chas’ direct boss, than at least is senior to him, which is why he occasionally lapses back into calling him “Mr. Pickles.”

-Stu was a class clown in high school but being a habitual tinker, surprised no one by going to college for mechanical engineering (with a minor in business, at his brother and father’s insistence), where he met Didi, an education major. He took most of two years to get up the courage to ask her out. They were engaged inside of a month.

-Didi, Stu, Betty, and Howard all went to the same college because that makes coming up with these easier. Chas and Drew went to a technical college to study accounting and business, respectively.

-Didi was born in Russia, where her parents are from. She moved to the US at a very young age, and has no memories of living in Russia.

-Charlotte used to work for a rival company to the one Drew and Chas work for, and Drew was partially responsible for the corporate takeover that led to them meeting. They hit it off almost immediately.

-Howard works in an office but nobody except him is actually sure what he does. Betty tries to understand but just shrugs and says he does something involving computers since he’s always at one.

-Betty’s full name is Elizabeth. She surprised everyone, including herself, by both quitting her job managing a coffee house and dropping out of the amateur wrestling and roller derby circuits to become a stay-at-home mother when the twins were born.

-Betty and Howard dated all throughout college (where they met Didi and later Stu), mystifying all of their friends and family, who were only further mystified when they got married. Neither of their parents really approve of the others’ choice- Betty’s parents think Howard is a spineless nerd who can’t provide for a family, and Howard’s parents think Betty is an overly-aggressive asshole.

-Betty and Chas have, unknown to each other, been attracted to each other for years. They’d never act on it, though- Chas is too nice a person to do that to Howard, and Betty cares too much about her family.
